What do we need?

1. A sufficient free and unobscured space. Keep in mind as a rough rule that we need about 1 square meter for every 100 Watt (if you are going to use the conventional crystal solar panel). The space shouldn’t have any natural or artificial shades throughout the entire day if possible otherwise the system will have a lower performance than expected. The PV systems have maximum performance when fully facing the South.

2. Correct inclination in relation to the horizontal level. Usually an inclination that gives the best result throughout the whole year is selected. For Greece the optimum inclination is about 30 degrees.

3. The PV systems have maximum performance when fully facing the South. Deviations from this orientation up to 45 degrees are accepted but they reduce their performance.

Installation of PV systems up to 10kWp

This program refers to PV systems that are installed on roofs, flat roofs and terrace shelters for the production of energy that is infused in the existing electricity network. It is applicable in all the Greek territory excluding the islands that are not physically connected to the continental System. Entitled to participate in this program are all the non-traders individuals and natural or legal persons that are traders classified as very small businesses, who own the space in which the PV system will be installed.

In case of a communal or commonly-owned space only one PV system is allowed to be installed. Entitled to participate in this program are the owners of the horizontal properties represented by the building super or one of the owners having the concession of the rest of the owners. Essential prerequisite is the concession of all the co-owners that is proven by the minutes of the general meeting or a written concession of all the co-owners of the building.

Conditions for participating in the Program

Another condition for taking advantage of this program is the existence of an active electricity connection under the name of the person who will install the PV system.

Part of the heating needs in warm water should be covered by renewable energy sources like solar thermal, solar water heaters etc.
